Poland’s flagship Stefan Banach Scholarship Programme is open for applications. Jointly funded by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), this prestigious initiative offers talented graduates from 36 developing countries the chance to pursue a fully funded Master’s degree at Polish public universities — combining tuition support, a monthly stipend, and access to a fast-growing European higher education system.
The Stefan Banach Scholarship Programme was created by merging the former Banach and Łukasiewicz Scholarship Programmes into a single comprehensive scheme. Its primary mission is to contribute to the social and economic development of partner countries by equipping talented students with advanced knowledge, practical skills, and international academic exposure at Polish public universities supervised by Poland’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
The scholarship focuses on disciplines that directly contribute to the development of participating countries.
Applicants from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Montenegro, Moldova, North Macedonia, Serbia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan may also apply for Master’s programmes in Economics, International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Development Studies, and other Humanities and Social Science disciplines.
Note: Philological studies focused on the applicant’s native language are generally not eligible under this programme.
Significantly lower accommodation and living expenses compared to most Western European countries.
Polish universities operate under the European Bologna Process — degrees recognized throughout Europe and beyond.
Heavy investment in research, innovation, technology, green energy, engineering, and life sciences.
Hundreds of Master’s programmes available entirely in English, accessible to students worldwide.
Graduates gain direct exposure to European labour markets and international research collaborations.
Identify a suitable Master’s programme at a Polish university before beginning your scholarship application — this is a required first step.
Submit your application through the NAWA portal before the window closes.
