The Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) is inviting qualified nationals of the East African Community (EAC) to apply for Cohort 4 of the KfW-funded EAC Scholarship Programme, for two-year fully funded Master’s studies in an EAC Partner State other than their own.

Nationals of any of the 8 EAC Partner States, aged below 35 at the time of application:

π What the Scholarship Covers
- Return economy-class air ticket between home country and host country
- Full tuition fees, paid directly to the host university
- Arrival allowance of EUR 200
- Monthly stipend of EUR 380 (accommodation, meals, transport, living costs)
- EUR 650 lump-sum allowance for study materials
- One-time EUR 1,500 study and research allowance
- Medical insurance for the full scholarship duration
- Visa / entry pass or student pass fees, where required
- Participation in at least one extracurricular / regional integration event
β Eligibility Criteria
- Citizen of one of the 8 EAC Partner States
- Below 35 years of age at the time of application
- Applying to study in an EAC Partner State other than your own country of citizenship
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least Second Class Upper Division, Distinction, or equivalent
- Have applied for admission to an eligible Master’s programme at a partner university
- Submit a complete scholarship application within the application period
Female applicants, persons with disabilities and applicants from other disadvantaged backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. The Programme targets at least 50% female participation among beneficiaries.

π How to Apply
Part A — University Admission- Review this call and choose your Master’s programme and university from the eligible list above.
- Visit the chosen university’s website and follow its own admission application process.
- Apply for admission, clearly indicating your intention to also apply for the EAC Scholarship Programme, and pay the university application fee where applicable.
- Complete and submit the online EAC Scholarship Application form (opens 20 August 2026).
- Review the Supporting Documents Checklist to identify everything you need to attach.
- Compile all required documents into a single folder, named using the prescribed document codes.
- Compress the documents into a single zipped PDF folder and email it to eacsp@iucea.org and scholarships@adroitconsultinternational.com, with the subject line: [Applicant Name] – Application for [Programme] at [University] – Phase II EACSP.
You may apply to more than one eligible programme and/or university, but each application must have its own online form and its own separate email submission with a complete set of supporting documents.

- Only complete, on-time applications in English will be considered.
- You must complete both stages: university admission AND the separate EACSP scholarship application.
- Applying for admission does not automatically count as applying for the scholarship.

- False or incomplete information may lead to disqualification or withdrawal of an award.
